What You Get
Mellon — Elvish for “Friend” — is the entry-level subscription. It’s designed for players who want to skip the tedious parts of Rust without gaining any combat advantage. Everything here is convenience and cosmetics.

Quality of Life
Queue Skip
When the server is full, you skip ahead of non-subscribers in the queue. No more waiting 10 minutes to get in after a wipe.
Map Voting
Participate in map votes when the server is choosing next wipe’s map. Your voice matters in shaping the world you play on.
Sign Artist
Paint custom images onto signs in-game. Upload any image and apply it to wooden signs, picture frames, and banners. Decorate your base, mark your territory, or troll your neighbors with style.
/bgrade (Auto-Upgrade Building)
Automatically upgrade building pieces as you place them. Type /bgrade 2 and every piece you place will instantly upgrade to stone. No more running around with a hammer. Saves huge amounts of time when building a base.
| Command | Effect |
|---|---|
/bgrade 1 | Auto-upgrade to wood |
/bgrade 2 | Auto-upgrade to stone |
/bgrade 3 | Auto-upgrade to sheet metal |
/bgrade 4 | Auto-upgrade to armored |
Wallpapers
Apply wallpapers to walls inside your base for a cleaner, more customized look. Purely cosmetic.
Base Shields (Upkeep Protection)
Base Shields pause your TC’s upkeep cost so your walls don’t decay — this is NOT raid protection (your base is already safe from raids by default). Shields are for when you can’t farm enough upkeep materials or want to take a break without your base crumbling. As a Mellon subscriber, you get significant shield upgrades over free players.
What Free Players Get
- Buy shields at their TC using Mithril
- Shields stack — buy multiple and the time adds together (e.g. a 1h + 2h shield = 3 hours of protection)
- Max stack cap: 4 hours total
- 90-second cast time to activate a shield
What Mellon Gets
- Max stack cap raised to 6 hours total
- 4 free 1-hour shields per wipe — granted once at the start of each wipe, not recurring
- Instant activation — no 90-second cast time, shields activate immediately
Shield Pricing (Mithril)
| Duration | Cost |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | 100 Mithril |
| 2 hours | 175 Mithril |
| 4 hours | 300 Mithril |
Shields only tick down while you’re online. When you disconnect, they pause automatically and resume when you reconnect. This means your shield time is never wasted while you’re away.
Resource Kit
Every 18 hours, you can claim a resource kit that gives you a boost of building materials. This saves one farming run — it doesn’t replace farming entirely.
| Resource | Amount |
|---|---|
| Stone | 5,000 |
| Wood | 5,000 |
| Metal Ore | 5,000 |
| Sulfur Ore | 2,000 |
Cooldown: 18 hours between claims. Wipe lock: Kits are disabled for the first 3 hours after each wipe so everyone starts on equal footing.
What Mellon Does NOT Include
- No combat advantages — no extra damage, health, or armor
- No extra gather rates
- No extra team slots
- No Skinbox (available at Silmaril or as a standalone purchase)

Mellon is about saving time and looking good. A free player with better aim will always beat a Mellon subscriber.
